Always mission ready, 14Four jumped into action when the Chick Fil-A cows alerted the nation with code moo!

Diners across the country were called upon by Daisy, Sarge and Carrots to aid them in mischief and fun as they spread their message of self preservation against their pesky nemesis, Circus Burger. With web-based AR and delightful 3D animation, 14Four supported the trio and their campaign to convince others it's time to ditch the burgers and “eat mor chikn!”

Challenge

Since its first appearance in 1995, the "Eat Mor Chikn!" campaign has had a huge impact on the Chick Fil-A brand, as have the cows that deliver it. With their latest mission, audiences could get in on the fun by participating through web based AR that would see the cows take down food trucks, burger stands and vending machines around the US. This required modeling for props in various animated scenes, as well as the full Chick Fil-A gang. As no two cows share the same spots, Daisy, Sarge and Carrots would each need to be optimized for web to share their unique personalities as featured throughout TV ads.

Solution

Each week audiences could log in to tackle a new mission testing their geography knowledge through trivia questions to win fun prizes and enjoy animations of the cows at work. 14Four’s special 3D operatives ensured that each mission was a success by optimizing the high resolution models for web (we’re talking major poly reduction) while retaining all the texture details that make up our beautiful bovine friends. From there, each character was rigged and animated for 15 variations of mischief where our AR experts helped to deploy them around the country.

Impact

The 4 week campaign brought huge awareness and enjoyment to Chick Fil-A patrons who experienced a multitude of uniquely created scenarios. Introducing a brand new look for a virtual audience, 14Four helped the herd continue to build on the "Eat Mor Chikn!" campaign and apply a refreshing AR exploration, opening up even more opportunities for the cows in the future.
