Toyota brings back a classic with their new generation of Land Cruiser vehicles.
Ready to take on new off-road adventures, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser planned to make a comeback in style through a carefully crafted promotion. Opening up a unique challenge to Land Cruiser enthusiasts, entrants earned the opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind piece of art that captured the legacy of the trademark vehicle.
Challenge
The Toyota Land Cruiser has a history with it’s audience, and each vehicle owner has their own stories to share. The promotional site wanted to capture that feeling through an online competition, inviting users to express their creativity at scale by designing a custom wrap on a print out model. With the choice between a vintage 1958 Land Cruiser or the newer, 2024 vehicle, each entrant would design and photograph their diorama in a setting of their choice, fueling their imagination and gearing up for glory. To help grease the wheels of inspiration, 14Four was also challenged to build these models to be use as content across the landing page.
Solution
The team threw on our overalls and got to work. Cutting, crafting, and coloring numerous Land Cruiser models, we built up a collection that was used in various indoor and outdoor photoshoots. Selecting terrains that highlighted the versatility of the vehicle, each image was further refined in post before narrowing down the options that would be featured on the site. Our development team then took the curated images and constructed a premium landing page that was fully responsive and and equipped for a large number of entries.
Impact
It was clear to see from all of the entries that passion for Toyota Land Cruiser had stood the test of time. Judging this promotion was no easy feat, and each detailed model showcased amazing ideas and attention to detail - but in the end one lucky winner took home an amazing, original piece of Land Cruiser art, while Toyota took home humbling appreciation for an impressive relaunch.
